Herran-Kopacz
Owner/Director/Instructor
Cindy La
Herran-Kopacz began her dance training with
Alice Faye Myers and Benny Smith who taught her
the fundamentals of tap, jazz and ballet. As a
youth she entertained crowds as a featured
pageant dancer in the Miss California Pageant
and appeared in numerous shows at the Santa
Clara County Fair. In 1987 Cindy was crowned
Miss Santa Clara and the following year became
the first Miss San Jose, earning the inaugural
title with a stunning tap solo.
Cindy took
her dance training and performing skills to the
world of professional cheerleading. During her
seven-year reign as a San Francisco Forty-Niners
Gold Rush cheerleader she earned two Super Bowl
rings. Cheering in the NFL provided Cindy with
the opportunity to dance behind musical greats
Tony Bennett, Jeffrey Osbourne, Boys II Men and
Carlos Santana. A select member of the Gold
Rush Tour Group, she performed for the USO,
entertaining United States troops stationed in
Korea. She has kept her ties with the Forty-Niners
organization as an active member of the NFL
Alumni.
Most
recently, Cindy has trained with Dennis Casbury,
Gill Stroming and Mia Michaels, some of the best
of today. Cindy keeps up with the current dance
world by attending clinics, workshops and
conventions.
Teaching dance and performing has been Cindy’s
passion for the past ten years. In September of
2003 she fulfilled a life-long dream and started
her own studio. With a handful of students and
a ton of support from friends and family DanCyn
studio was born. In January 2004 she secured
her own location and opened the doors to DanCyn
studio’s new home. With the help of her sister
Michelle, DanCyn studio has grown rapidly and is
on its way to a very successful future.
